HIGH SELLER of the IOWA BEEF EXPO

$11,000 to Russ Tegtmeier, Burchard, Nebraska

The January bull picked by Joe Rickabaugh for the Iowa Beef Expo. He is homozygous polled. He is very quiet and was shown by my 9 yo granddaughter at the WI State Fair where he was Reserve Champion Bull calf pictured on the left at 8 mo of age. The pic on the right was taken in October at 10 mo of age.

His EPD profile shown at the bottom is hard to beat - especially the combination of marbling and REA. There are 10 traits in the top 10%. Actual BW 79# and 205 adj WW 709 with ratio 109. His YW is 1253#. Ultrasound adj REA is 14.35 and IMF 4.63 raising his EPD REA to 0.84 and Marbling EPD to 0.68. His semen is of very high quality at 12 mo of age. Paul Slayton and I are retaining ¼ intrest. The new owner will have full possesion and get ¾ of semen sales.

His dam and grand dam are two of the best cows we ever had and are donor dams. Grand dam MGM Boomete 730 pictured below at the age of 11 and amazingly well preserved with a good calf every year - a great calf just born 2 months ago by Vanguard. Also attached is pic of his dam Slayton 634 Boom Z311/730 ET sired by KCF Bennett Encore Z311 ET. Very nice udders and sustained fertility on these cows.
